Role Overview
Anudip USA is seeking an experienced, strategic, and relationship-driven Director of Development / Senior Fundraising Lead to build and lead our U.S. fundraising efforts. This is Anudip USA’s first full-time fundraising role in the United States and represents a unique opportunity to shape fundraising strategy, build donor ecosystems from the ground up, and partner closely with leadership to scale impact.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in nonprofit fundraising—particularly within organizations focused on the developing world—and has a proven track record of cultivating and stewarding major donors. Experience engaging donors within the Indian and Indian-American community in the United States is strongly preferred.
This role is remote and reports directly to Anudip USA leadership, with close collaboration with Anudip Foundation’s global teams.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute a comprehensive U.S. fundraising strategy aligned with Anudip’s mission and growth goals
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual major donors, family offices, foundations, and corporate partners
- Build a diversified funding pipeline across individual giving, institutional philanthropy, and community-based fundraising
Donor Cultivation & Relationship Management
- Establish and manage long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals and philanthropic families
- Lead donor engagement efforts including one-on-one meetings, site visit coordination, impact briefings, and tailored communications
- Serve as a trusted ambassador for Anudip, articulating mission, programs, and impact to sophisticated donor audiences
Community Engagement & Network Building
- Expand Anudip USA’s visibility and presence within relevant philanthropic, professional, and community networks
- Engage Indian-American community leaders, cultural organizations, and diaspora groups in support of Anudip’s mission
- Partner with board members, advisors, and volunteers to activate networks and open doors to new donor relationships
Campaigns, Events & Partnerships
- Design and lead fundraising campaigns and donor engagement events (small salons, leadership gatherings, and larger community events)
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic partnerships with foundations, corporations, and philanthropic platforms
- Support grant strategy and proposal development in collaboration with internal teams, as needed
Operational & Reporting Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate donor records, pipelines, and reporting using CRM systems
- Track fundraising performance, forecast revenue, and provide regular updates to leadership and the board
- Ensure donor stewardship best practices, compliance, and ethical fundraising standards
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- 8+ years of progressive fundraising or development experience in a nonprofit environment including within India
- Proven experience cultivating donors within the Indian or Indian-American community in the United States
- Demonstrated success in major gifts fundraising and donor relationship management
- Experience working with or for nonprofits focused on the developing world, global education, workforce development, or international poverty alleviation
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate impact into compelling donor narratives
- Comfort operating in an entrepreneurial, build-from-scratch environment with high autonomy
Preferred
- Existing relationships with philanthropists, foundations, or donor networks aligned with international development or education
- Experience working closely with nonprofit boards and senior leadership
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, donor databases, and fundraising analytics
